Celebrity moms Amanda Jacob, Joy Sotto, and LJ Alapag shares what it’s like to be a parent
Not everyone can be sure what it’s like to be a parent. Only those who have experienced and are currently experiencing motherhood can tell how it is raising children. To shed some light about this topic, celebrity moms LJ Moreno-Alapag, Joy Sotto and Amanda Griffin-Jacob, were interviewed by Philippine Entertainment Portal (PEP) recently during a children’s event held at Shangri-La the Fort.
For Amanda, who’s expecting another child to be added to her and spouse David’s bundles of joy, “it’s chaotic” but is “always a lot of fun.” She added:
“I think it has to do with, you know, I have three kids to look after now. I’m always tired, and I was very sick. Don’t be embarrassed to ask for help or don’t feel like you’re being a bad mom. I was so sick, I needed all the help I could get, I just gave my kids to my husband. I mean, at that point, there was nothing else I could do. I was barely functioning. I did miss being with my kids, but I couldn’t take care of them at that point. Yeah, every little bit helps.”
LJ, on the other hand, shared that building “teamwork” is also important.

“With more kids talaga, it’s hard. Physically, mas mahirap. But yung joy, yung happiness of having another baby in the house is there. I try to make sure that I have time for each of them. When Kuya is at Taekwando, I spend time with the other one. Trina-try ko lang i-balance talaga, me and my husband. Big thing yung teamwork…”
Somehow, Joy finds comfort in hearing her children’s noise on her and her husband Gian’s daily lives. She also added that they don’t like having favorites at home.
“Actually, my husband and I, we really try to do yung parang one-on-one with each kid. It’s impossible to do it once a month na lahat sila, right? So parang once a month for each child. We try to do it that way. As much as possible, when we go out, it’s always kaming lahat sabay. Stay home if someone is sick. So, it’s always, all for one, one for all kami.”

“We don’t want to instill in their minds na meron kaming favorite. Though, minsan, hindi rin maiiwasan. Kasi may people na magtatanong, ‘Sino favorite mo?’ Maraming ganon. And so, we always say in front of the kids, ‘No, we have no favorites. Mom and Dad love you the same.’”
