Did you know that this ‘Luxurious Bags’ are actually made from the Philippines?

Bags are all girl’s essential. They say “You can Define a Woman By The Type of Bag She Carries”. We usually acknowledge an authentic luxury item once you bought it outside the country. Price is also a checklist to know if it’s legit. But did you ever hear about your favorite ‘Luxury Bag’ being made right here in the Philippines?

Since 1941, Coach has been the epitome of classic American style. Discover the affordable luxury of Coach bags, from always-in-style purses to diaper bags and Coach wristlets. From their distinctive monogram C print to timeless leather treasures, Coach handbags are an everyday essential.

Broadcaster Korina Sanchez posted an interesting factoid on her Facebook page: luxury brand Coach bags are made in the Philippines.

Did you know that COACH bags are made in the Philippines?” Sanchez posted on Facebook, along with photos of the bags inside a factory.

According to Ms. Korina Sanchez, 11,000 Filipino employees are manufacturing the global high-end bag in a factory in Pampanga.

Netizens posted comments on her post seemed to confirm the ABS-CBN news personality’s information, and shared their thoughts.

One user shared, “Dati akong empleyado sa pabrika ng panty, six months contract… dyan saLaguna Industrial Park. VS, CK, CHANNEL at kung anu-ano pa, pang export quality.”

(I used to work for a factory manufacturing undergarments for six months in Laguna Industrial Park. [They] produce Victoria’s Secret, Calvin Klein, Chanel and much more for export quality.)

She also shared that when she purchased Victoria’s Secret product during her work abroad, she was frustrated to see the bag was tagged “Made in China.”

“Halos lahat ng pabrika sa buong Cavite puro Taiwanese Chinese at Korean ang may ari ng pabrika, kaya maliit din magpa sahod sa mga empleyado,” she revealed.

(Almost all the factories in Cavite are owned by Taiwanese, Chinese and Koreans, that is why workers are poorly compensated.)

Upon checking with other online sources, They found out that there are indeed subcontractors of foreign brands that are based in some facilities in the Philippines.

In May 2012, Rappler reported that Chinese firm FCF Manufacturing was setting up a factory in Bataan.

The report said FCF Manufacturing is a subsidiary of Fashion Focus, which is a manufacturer and a major supplier of Coach bags for 30 years.

Aside from the plant in Bataan, another coach subcontractor – D’Luxe Bag Philippines of the Luen Thai Group – is operating in Tarlac.

Have you thought about this? Yes indeed! Filipinos must be proud! All these expensive items sold worldwide are actually made from the Philippines. Another addition to our world-class talent.
